The Amdrecor Chest Rest Face and Neck shield is designed to provide its wearer with a comfortable, light weight protection against flying debris, sprays, splatter, and their associated physical hazards and infectious potential. It is designed to be worn so that it protects the face and neck from sprays, splatter or flying debris originating from work below the chin level of the wearer such as on a work bench or table. The advantage of the shield is freedom of motion and comfort for the wearer and the added benefit of protecting the normally tender neck region.
Cleaning Face Shield Lens
The shield lens should be cleaned after each procedure, patient, or as necessary. Lenses may be cleaned by immersion under running water, using alcohol wipes, or following regular eyeglass cleaning instructions for plastic lenses. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may scratch lens surface. Both the head frame and shield lenses may be disinfected or sterilized using gas or cold sterilization solutions that do not leave films. Shields should be replaced after repeated use. Ordering spares will assure uninterrupted protection.
Proper Assembly for Maximum Protection

1. Installing Lens to Frame (See Figure A.)
a. Turn frame so "ears" and lip are on top.
b. Remove protective film from both sides of lens. Lens should be clear.
c. Shield is attached by inserting slot of shield into slot of "ears." Then bend shield to insert "hook" of ears into hole of shield. Next bend shield around following frame contour to the other side to again insert the slot of the shield into the slot of the frame followed by inserting the hole in the shield into the "hook" of the ear.
2. Attaching Neck Foam Rest
a. Attach foam neck guard and rest to frame in opposite direction of shield. Bend foam to match contour of frame and Velcro attachments on frame. Press matching Velcro's firmly to secure.
3. Attaching & Adjusting Cord for Best Protection
a. Attach one side of cord to post on frame and tighten by squeezing loop to post.
b. You are now ready to adjust shield to maximize protection yet maintain comfort and mobility. (See Figure B.) You adjust the closeness of the shield by shortening or lengthening the cord. To be effective the shield or lens portion must be so positioned that when you are working normally the object in your hands should be viewed a little below the center of the shield. This is normally accomplished when shield is approximately 4-6" from the bridge of the nose and the top of the shield is just below eye level when viewed horizontally.
